What really stands out in your article and is the scary stuff:

In my opinion, this economic mess is in no small part due to exactly these speculators. They have to perform day in and day out to please their handlers, the regulators and the public. Reporting and in between guidance, became the downfall. And of course GREED.

You are right and remembered, I am from Austria, but as stated " originally ". I live since 40 years in Quebec.
