Message: Energy stocks in TFSA?

Hi Tau,

I have filled my TFSA for 2009 and 2010 - nothing but ENERGY!

50% Enbridge

25% Encana

25% Cenovus

I went conservative to start. I would like to at least see some capital appreciation as well as the dividends.

2011 contribution will likely be a small Bakken player; I have my eyes on Painted Pony.

I also hold lots of Suncor in my big portfolio. Like them, but not enough to put them in my TFSA. With their "dirty" image and the frequent upgrader fires, they are somewhat volatile.

I think the bigger reason for their recent decline is the PetroCanada purchase. Many analysts feel they have strayed from their roots. When you look at other integrated energy companies, they tend to be undervalued due to the refinery side. Not sure why, but compare this to some of the big American integrated oil players. Long term, I still like Suncor. People LOVE to drive their cars (and be warm in winter and cool in summer).
