I know of Statoilhydro and it seems to be a shinning example of a government owning resource production and distribution to the great benefit of the people of Norway. However other than a few exceptions here in Canada our governments are not trending to owning (or certainly nationalizing) resource production companies. Sometimes when we hear of the benefits accruing to Norweigans from the ownership of Statoilhydro it sounds tempting but there is still a significant cultural difference in the two countries. However give the US enough time with the lastest bailouts and govt equity moves there and who knows, we all may be entering a new "socialistic" era here in NA. LOL

ps After holding long and hard on QEC I don't particularily want to share the rewards of QEC with 30,000,000 + Canadians or 7,500,000 Quebecers. Call me greedy.
