Message: Talisman Energy Budgets $5.2 Billion in Capital Spending for 2010 Major Increase

Hi all,

I have emailed QEC and the response I got back was basically the one we all know. The guideline is what it is, but things will change with results. If the horizontals show good results, then it will increase the speed at which the utica shale is developed. 2010 is the multi pad test wells, and we're still on track for that. If these first two horizontals are good, then we can see up to 4+ more. Don't forget, there are other plays that will be drilling in the area too that will add to the number of test wells and learning curve. Talisman already pushed up these two horizontal wells by 6 months because of great vertical tests, and that can happen again and again.

This huge run we've seen in QEC was also because of a few takeovers of some shale plays, so the possibility of that is still real. We've all read the articles posted here about Total looking at "several Canadian shale plays"...so lets all take a deep breathe, we have a lot going for us, a lot more than most jrs around North America.

Keep on smiling ppl!

Rocco:)
