Thanks for the link zuza. Another solid interview - though I would have liked a 'firework' or two thrown in. I must admit I'm struggling to understand why the SP has fallen back to levels preceeding the fantastic results from the Utica well - despite the interim stock dilution. I’m writing this post in pure frustration – forgive me...
In the interview with E24, Binnion listed three critical elements that he believed could lift the sp to a new all time high. The first two (new wells and pipeline infrastructure) are again mentioned during the BNN interview and the company is able to effectuate these on it’s own. The recent, oversubscribed issuance of additional shares, also ensures that the company now posesses the financial muscle to execute these advances too. The third element was that the province of Quebec needed to adopt legislation more suitable to development and production, rather than exploration. This also now seems to be a matter of when - rather than if. The interviewer suggests that the legislation may already be in place by the fourth quarter... and yet the SP languishes around 3,60 CAD. Can anybody tell me why?
Binnion states that limited production may commence during early 2011 and I hope he’s right. I think that production (read income), however modest, is what’s now required to remove the company’s ‘speculative’ image amoung traders and give the stock some stability. Of course I also hope for fantastic results from the next drilling operations too. Stability is one thing, but preferably at a much higher level than the one we currently find ourselves at.
I have great faith in the long term success of this company and find it gut-wrenching to see the SP toyed with in this fashion. With much of the potential imo already proven, I incorrectly predicted that the SP would steadily rise as the company came closer and closer to production. I certainly wasn’t expecting the roller-coaster up and downs of 2008 all over again. Owning a stock like QEC is certainly not to be recommended to the faint hearted!
