Do u know if they sent it to the federal govt. or the provincial govt. ?

The matter is under provincial jurisdiction it will be adressed by the Quebec govt . Any clarification on the subject should be submitted to them .

For a matter of understanding whenenver a law project is submitted to the national assembly it goes through three steps , we call them lecture .

In the first one the government submits the law project to the parlament and the opposition submit their views and propose amendments to the proposed law , then the government comes back with or without amendments with a second lecture of the project , further discussions go on about the proposed law and the opposition once again submits their view and further amendments if needed .

On the third lecture the law is either approved or disgarded after being submitted to a vote by the national assembly .

Following the first lecture the eventual adoption could take up from a few weeks to a few months before it's adopted depending on the priority it's given by the govt. and the extent of the opposition to the project by opposition parties .

Just so you have an idea about the lenght of time it could take once the govt. introduces legislation about hydrocarbon exploitation in Quebec .

If the govt. introduces this legislation by late winter or early spring , the law could be adopted before the end of spring or take up untill early next fall after the summer recess if opposition drag their feet about it and if the project is very unpopular .

Furthermore if the govt. were to provoke an election for several reasons this could change the deadline .
