Message: Province reverses position on shale gas

Read the section on Talisman, what their spokesman said about all of this and what Mr. Binnion said. It's so bizarre to me that after reading these things, and then seeing what the environmentalists and journalists make of it. This is beyond extreme, it's taking it to another whole new level.

It's ok though, the industry will develop based on facts, not what other interpret leaks and other things to be. The difference is, in a well developed shale gas region, these leaks are extremely common that detectors won't catch them, or if they do give readings, it's minimal like in Quebec...the regulators basically acknowledge them and move on. In Quebec, it's an over the top gernade blowing up and end of the world lol.

Premier Charest's comments are exactly what would be expected from a premier, "it will be done right or not at all"...this is what any leader would say...and yeah, of course it has to be done right, I second that!
