Great post Foghorn. You are right, will proceed but with a watchful eye and frankly I am all for that.

Today Mr. Arcand made some very positives points that they are working with the companies and that they are not our enemies...that this will move forward but will be monitered very closely. I guess we take it for granted in Alberta. We grow up with oil and gas, and in Quebec everything is brand new...and that alone is enough to freak anyone out...and frankly the environmentalists and journalists have made it a million times worse to play on peoples fears. Most people just have general questions with new industries...the fear in them was brought on by people with little knowledge and the sole purpose of freaking them out and discrediting them.

Also, an article:

Great article actually. One of the main concerns of environmentalists about treating water...well Trois Rivieres treated water from frac operations, and they said it turns out that the water would be better than domestic water after treatment. That's one argument they can't make anyone.

I am not very familiar with Jacques Lamarre, but he believe shale gas is great for Quebec, but must be done respectfully...but said that the industry are professionals that have been doing this and can do this the right way.

So a nice couple articles today for us.

Rocco :)
