I read this today too loool. Had a great laugh over it. Man these enviro's are trying whatever they possibly can. Yeah go ahead and ban a process where it will never be used because you got dick all looool.
Here is the massive news folks:
http://money.cnn.com/2011/07/01/news/economy/fracking_new_york/
They say they will ban it in places where there is high risk to NY water supply etc, but 85% of the Marcellus will be accessible for fracking. This is huge news for us.
Also interesting enough, is that Petrolia's first estimates are 30 billion barrels equiv of resource on Anticosti. Quebec has literally hit the gold mine and with 240B+ in debt, it's just a matter of time folks. Don't kid yourself to think the government isn't wetting their lips with an absolutely giant money bin under them. They are just playing it cool and letting this study do what it has too. Only thing is, the Department of Environmental Conservation in NY found nothing to show evidence is contaminates, so this goes towards a huge step showing Quebec that it is safe. I do understand them wanting to not do it near cities and parks, which is exactly what will be the case in Quebec. The thing is the industry never planned to frac near Quebec or Montreal, so that was never an issue. Next will be the EPA, which early evidence has shown nothing again.
Anyway, good news for all of us here.
Happy Canada Day to all!!
