Utica lies beneath Marcellus. In areas where there is no Marcellus formation like in eastern Ohio, companies can go straight to the Utica formation. Also it appears that the Utica shale is rather shallow in Ohio which s beneficial in terms of drilling costs etc. Eastern Ohia has been deemed the hotspot of the Utica play. The Utica beneath Quebec is shallower than Ohio reportedly which is nice offhand. If we could just get this SEA over with......****
