"Quebec is nitpicking for natgas which would bring wealth but are ready to go to court to keep the gun registry that we dint need. Plus has cost billions and has 3 broken wheels was useless before and would be more useless to the tenth.

A man need his priorities right? Typical"

Wow, not much more of a misinformed post that this.

Quebec is a Province that went through the horrific massacre in Montreal at the hands of a gunman with a rifle in 1989, a 2nd at Concordia in 1992 (granted with handguns) and a third in 2006 at Dawson College with a semi-automatic. It is a very sensitive topic for them. Their local (Provincial) Government has decided that they would like to keep this registry for their Province as they feel it will protect their people better. So, instead of starting from scratch to create it, they feel they should have the right to the information for people from their Province. Instead of the federal government summarily destroying it. That sounds rather smart to me. A large cost savings.

Now I don't care if the registry was right, is right or has any value. However, based on their decision for their people and their percieved safety, it's hard to argue with their actions.
