especially the paragraph below, are we in for a continued moratium until PQ sits off its term????

The PQ’s election promise to increase taxes on wealthy individuals and on resource companies is equally alarming to the Conseil, which says this could slow down investment.

The party has pledged to put in place an automatic minimum 5% mining royalty on the value of production as well as a 30% tax on surplus profits. It would also impose a 50% tax on any eventual oil production and declare a moratorium on shale gas development, which is essentially already in place pending the result of an environmental review.
