I have sensed a real effort of late to push traffic back to the SH board and away from agoracom, in fact I've think its been there from the get go....but I believe it has accelerated of late.

Given what I know of how the investing world operates its not a shock. I know there are trading houses, brokerages and such who have individuals posting regularily to social media sites. I also know that they will employ numerous IDs and use them to stage a form of theatre in an effort to push discussion and influence sentiment in whichever direction proves most profitable to their shop.

Agoracom presents a challenge in that regard....because of the IP checker it presents an added challenge to the industry hack. That's not to say its insurmountable, but it makes things much more labour intensive and perhaps even more costly...requiring using different servers and such to maintain the desired illusion.

Do you think I'm paranoid?

Consider how much money is spent by the financial industry in an effort to sway investor sentiment. Aside from the actual companies themselves you have their IR firms, then there's analysts, both those who are tied to brokerage houses and the independents. Let's not forget the media, from TV talking heads to webcasts, from professional writers to SeekingAlpha or other hacks. Then just look at all the social media sites.....stockhouse, yahoo, ragingbull, stockhouse, investorshub, investorparadise , investorhangout, stocktwits, and probably hundreds more small little forums of which I consider agoracom one.

Now....if a site like this becomes popular, where industry players find it difficult to play their games.....Do you think they might try to discredit or discourage others from using it?
