Koo...I think you're reasoning is on the mark, that it is retailers who are selling, and you are quite likely correct in assuming that they're selling shares they bought last year and booking nice profits. At least I hope so, I like it when retailers win...and anytime you sell a stock at a price higher than which you paid, you win.

With that being said, the question then begs....if it is retail selling. Then who is buying? Its obvious to me that at least some of the buying is by short sellers covering off given that short interest has gone from over 200,000 back in April to just under 100,000 as of the most recent update current to July 31.

So I'll put that down to "smart money", first selling high (going short) then buying low (covering)...and given that all the volume over these past 3 months or so is not short related...perhaps this "smart money" group is also buying a long position while covering the short.

I don't believe you would see any retail investors shorting a stock like RVX....in my books its a penny stock still, trading under $5 with an Over The Counter (OTC) pink listing in the US. The margin requirements for shorting a stock like RVX would be more than significant.
