I guess I have mixed emotions
On the one hand, I do agree with their logic as laid out in my post. Spinco did protect and separate the epigenetics platform and intellectual property from RVX, particularly in the event of an acquisition. I would not have wanted BP to sweep in and grab it all, unless of course, they paid the price - that remains to be seen. Epigenetics being what it is, I believe there's gold in them there hills but it may take awhile to get to it all. When I first started my career I remember the day when they brought the first Borroughs prototype electronic calculator into our staff room one morning. Then came the PC, internet, laser printers....we've come a long way baby. Epigenetics is a new frontier and I believe will evolve in much the same way one day.
On the other hand, RVX-208 plus the epigentics platform, bloodbank, et.al. will be a powerhouse, the fruits of which will carry BP for decades.
