Message: Thoughts re FDA approvals

There was an interesting article in the Globe and Mail. We all know that Resverlogix is still working with the FDA regarding various trial options re rvx-208. We all know that rvx-208 has a very high safety profile. So I found the following interesting.

Valeant’s new female libido pill isn’t selling. From a Globe and Mail Article on Nov 18th, 2015.

Addyi, made by Valeant Pharmaceuticals International Inc.’s is not selling. It only sold 227in it’s first few weeks compared to Viagra which sold to over half a million men in the first month.

Addyi, made by Valeant Pharmaceuticals Sprout division was controversial even before it hit the U.S. market on Oct 17th. The pill offers meaningful help for only about 10% more patients than a placebo, and it comes with a risk of serious side effects, including severely low blood pressure and fainting.

…..
The FDA had twice rejected Addyi approving it on Aug 18th on the condition that doctors get certified to prescribe it.

So I find this very interesting. It seems that big pharma is able to buy it's way into FDA approval wereas a little company like Resverlogix with an extremely powerful drug for much more important indications than Addyi has not yet achieved FDA approval for phase lll even though it is approved in the EU, China and various other countries and has an excellent safety profile.

I guess the FDA can be bought out by BP. DYODD
