Message: Re: Peer Reviewed.....A question for the board

Hi Ledenfrog,

1) All papers published in Journal of Atherosclerosis are peer reviewed, that is just the way it is with most scientific journals. Journal of Atherosclerosis is no exception

2) Peer reviewed refers to the fact that researchers from other institutiions or companies have read and commented on the article (typically anonymously) so that the editor of the journal has expert insight available to judge whether the article should be published or not. In this way the authors of a paper have a harder time over-interpreting their results so as to make them more interesting. As can be seen on the first page of the paper, the authors had to revise the paper (not uncommon) before it was accepted.

3) On January 28th, my most recent Seeking Alpha paper will be available for all to read. I too tried to base most of my research on peer reviewed papers because such papers are generally believed to be the most trustworthy source of unbiased information.

Best regards,

BKC
