Wash trading is where someone uses multiple accounts (probably with different brokerages) and swaps shares back and forth between them.....basically someone I'll call ''Bob'' buys and sells shares to and from himself, hence the term ''wash'' because Bob isn't making or losing any money...its a wash.
Its completely illegal as it is a blatant form of manipulation.....designed to either create a impression of strength or weakness. But despite it being illegal it happens....I read of a guy in BC who engaged in it with mining stocks and he was banned from being involved with public companies for 20 years out in BC.
Of course speeding is illegal too....and people do it all the time. I wouldn't fall off my chair if it was happening with RVX. IMO it works best with stocks that are thinly traded, and RVX definitely qualifies....
