Message: Evacetrapib fails

Someone mentioned this a little while ago but I think it is worth repeating in this thread as I was also at a presentation about 10 YEARS ago where Norman Wong very clearly predicted the failure of CETP inhibitors. His laymans explanation was that CETP inhibitors would fail because they raised HDL numbers by slowing the the processing of mature "loaded" HDL particles by the liver. Basically backing up the system. That is where his analogy of mature HDL's being full garbage bags that were not allowed to be thrown away came from. This was where he further said RVX was different in that it was helping the body produce more empty garbage bags (new functional HDL) that could be filled and then thrown away.  This was as I said 10 years ago and RVX is light years ahead of where they were as far as understanding Apabetalone and its MOA.  Still interesting that he predicted the CETP failures so long ago.
