The sense I get is that, despite having signed up to present....meaning paying deposit fees and other sundry expenses. 

Despite this, because they (the company) themselves didn't announce they'd be attending in any way shape or form, that they don't feel any obligation to disclose whether or not they attended, and if they did to share something like a slide deck.

Its a puzzle.  These events are geared toward helping companies like Resverlogix garner exposure in the market.  So you would assume that the companies signing up to prsent, that they're interested in promoting their companies.  But Resverlogix pays money to attend these events, and on two occassions last year they didn't show up....and if they weren't in SanFran yesterday then this would be number 3.
