A wild guess but perhaps management has been told that the SSRA is coming shortly. The RVX science team, who get the regular unblinded data, would probably by this time have an educated guess as to how the trial is generally going as they have probably been able to see some trends emerging in the data. Say for example if the data for this sick trial population overall was showing improvement, stabilization or reduced worsening in various tested indicators as compared to the direction that a “normal” sick population of this type would experience. By now there is obviously a lot of unblinded data that the RVX team would have analyzed. If they saw positive trends in a number of indicators they could probably guess things are going somewhat as they expect.

If the above were to be the case and Don now knows the SSRA is coming soon he could fairly confidently pull the pin, as he just did, on the BB financing with the expectation that the share price will improve once the SSRA is released. A financing could then be done at a better price. 

Like I said just some wishful thinking.
