Yes, apabetalone has been shown to have some effects on glucose metabolism in a small Phase 2 trial with 20 pre-diabetes male patients treated for about 30 days. But BETonMACE is in diabetic patients with much worse glucose control. It is yet to be seen how apabetalone affects glucose control in a population with overt diabetes.
