Diamond study compared mean HDL-C of 32.7 mg/dl for low-HDL-C group to mean HDL-C of 53.8 for normal HDL-C group. EXAMINE had a mean HDL-C of 43 mg/dL. Baseline HDL in pooled SUSTAIN/ASSURE Phase 2 was ~39 mg/dL (not sure if mean or median). Baseline HDL-C for BETonMACE population is 33.0 mg/dL (median). The difference between EXAMINE study or SUSTAIN/ASSURE study and BETonMACE baseline HDL-C isn't as large as the difference between the low/normal HDL-C groups in the Diamond study. Keep this in mind.
