Agreed. Stupid choice of placebo by Amarin and the REDUCE-IT trial investigators. It really looks like Vascepa has clear benefit, but the effect of mineral oil on plasma lipids, hsCRP and possibly other markers brings a ton of uncertainty in trial interpretation. Mineral oil elicited questionable effects in earlier MARINE and ANCHOR trials. The warning signs were there.....
