Thanks Bear.  Yes, ABL is a modulator of the Bet protein 'readers', not a reader itself. However, BET proteins do interact with non-histone proteins, as outlined in this article regarding NF-kB: https://www.mdpi.com/2227-9059/6/1/16

Both BDs of BRD4 interact with an acetylated lysine molecule on the RelA co-activator of NF-kB.  While I understand that the downstream or 'indirect' effects of transcriptional downregulation are many, I am still curious about the possibility of additional epigenetic effects resulting from possible activation/deactivation of methylation and acetylation enzymes.
