Message: Fabry's, Sanofi and Rothschild?

Thanks to some posts to the IV message board my head is spinning right now.

In the most recent posts you will see that Sanofi has very recently posted that they're looking to hire someone in Canada for a Clinical Science Associate in Toronto for Fabry Disease.

Reading that over you'll see that Sanofi already has a therapy available apparently called Genzyme, so perhaps it could be little more than coicidence.  I must admit being unfamiliar with Sanofi, my wife used to work at Patheon which was bought out a few years ago, and she told me how to pronounce it.

It turns out though that Sanofi is something like the 5th biggest Pharma in the world in terms of perscription sales, it trades in Europe and on the Nasdaq and has a MC of over $100 billion USD.  And guess where its based....Paris France.  Its one of the 50 largest companies in the EuroZone apparently.

This is where my head starts spinning.  When Resverlogix engaged Rothschild back in the summer it struck me as something of overkill.  Rothschild & Co is also based in Paris France.  When Resverlogix PR'd that Rothschild had been engaged to assist with garnering a US listing it struck me then that it seemed like overkill....I mean there are other companies that could do the same that are North American or US based....Roth springs immediately to mind but there has to be hundreds.  Using Rothschild as an advisor to get listed on the Naz or Amex, to me that would be like hiring Gordon Ramsey to cook hamburgers and dawgs at your next BBQ.

I thought then, and I still think that there's a strong possibility that Rothschild & Co was engaged for something with much bigger potential....and that perhaps the US listing was something of a smoke screen.

I know I'm connecting dots here, but its fun.  We've had lots of speculation here, about CVR deals and potential partners.  This one does have some logic though I think.  Check out the diseases Sanofi considers its core areas, CVD, Diabetes and Thrombosis are all listed.
