Message: Any thoughts to why BETonMACE patient median eGFR is so high?

At a median of 99, baseline eGFR for the BETonMACE patient population seems to be way too high given the history of these patients.

When looking at other studies of T2D patients with CVD, I found much much lower eGFR rates.

https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMoa1305889 ~ 71

Here's another study that suggests non-diseased males above the age of 50 should have an average in the 70s.

Anyone have any thoughts to why BETonMACE patients have such well running kidneys? This is especially strange when you consider that BETonMACE patients have such poor health markers like low HDL and LDL, high hsCRP, and high ALP.

Thanks,
Pomp
