PC - That question was asked and answered at an AGM in the past. The Q and A's are posted somewhere on this site but I'll give it a go from the hip. All previous trials compared Lipitor and Crestor. In order not to have to start another Phase II trial with Crestor alone before starting this BoM trial it was more cost efficient to go forward with this trial including both statins. Also as BDAZ mentioned the difference in MACE between the two statins wasn't significantly different, it was plaque regression that was significantly different between the two in the ASSURE post hock findings.
