Koo, the 100 mg twice a day dose of apabetalone was chosen based on the findings of the ASSERT trial, which tested 50, 100 or 150 mg (all twice a day) for 12 weeks. The 100 mg twice a day dose was likely chosen going forward for SUSTAIN, ASSURE, BETonMACE and other trials as a balance between efficacy and safety (i.e. elevated liver transaminases).
