The post-hoc analysis of ASSURE and SUSTAIN showed that diabetic patients experienced a 77% RRR in 5-point MACE. More recently, a post-hoc analysis that also included ASSERT (in addition to ASSURE and SUSTAIN) was published that found 5-point MACE incidence to be reduced by ~58% in diabetics. Either way, an amazing MACE reduction! 2 caveats: 1) this is based on a small number of events; 2) most of these events were not the strict 3-point MACE events being tracked in BETonMACE.
