The reality is that if you don't believe that Apabetalone does a bloody good job in supressing BRD4 and that suppression leads to all kinds of wonderful things (cardio vascular disease, renal etc.), you should not be in this stock.
IMHO it is not so simple as that. It is only rarely in science that you get to make these kind of discoveries that change the field of medicine, vitamin C for scurvy, pencillin for bacteria etc. It is possible since this is "unchartered territory", a new science in a way, this could happen. If it does, it would be unwise to sell because then this stock is going to keep on rising for the foreseeable future and beyond anyones imagining. However a lot of clinical trial fail in spite of the science behind them and the therapeutic effects that they are based on. The studies are conducted by corporations with vast resources, employing people who are a lot more knowleadgeable and experienced then any novice investor. The reason they fail is because the body is a complex organism with many interacting and opposing reactions/mechanisms. As our previous "esteemed" defense seceretary once said "there are known unknowns and there are unknown unknowns" or words to that effect.
Best to stick to the science and stay cautiously optimistic, once the results come out, there will be plenty of time for rejoicing or lamenting.
