".......how you would describe yourself as an investor, in terms of risk tolerance, i.e. are you typically a risk adverse person in life (would you sky dive, gamble, drive dangerously ? etc) and does this lifestyle risk profile exibit itself in your investment selections? Or would you say that you are highly risk adverse?"
I would describe myself as a naive beginner investor. Heavy on the science, light on the street knowledge of how the market works. Overall I am risk averse with my financial decisions, but have found small cap biotech to be a fun hobby and I am comfortable with the gamble and potential loss. Resverlogix was actually my first individual stock investment outside of pension and 401k. All of my current investments outside of pension and 401k are small cap biotech, and most of my investment/retirement dollars are in my pension/401k. Hopefully that changes with imminent events! Resverlogix and Bioasis are my largest holdings. Funny how they've gone in two separate directions and the gains and losses pretty cancel one another out. I have smaller positions in a handful of others. Over-sized or under-sized position in Resverlogix? As long as the share price increases, under-sized! But if the bottom drops out, over-sized! LOL.
