Message: Unlimited variables in trial execution

I got to thinking about all the variables that could take place in a trial this size. All the unexpected events that could take place to INADVERTENTLY tip a scale in favour or against a certain result. The logistics involved in conducting any drug trial in multiple countries would be astounding I would think. The knowledge you would have to have regarding import and shipping laws and regulations. Shipping or bringing trial drugs into a communist country for instance. Possible black market thefts or swapping of package contents.  The astounding number of humans involved In this operation could calculate into all kinds of human errors or mishaps. Millions of variables that could calculate into thousands of events.

  • Planes not landing on time
  • Packages mislabeled
  • Packages misplaced
  • Delivery vehicles breaking down, crashing or otherwise not showing up on time
  • Medical staff taking sick (or holidays) and not able to communicate instructions effectively
  • Theft and tampering (possible black market)
  • Pills dropped
  • Bottles mislabeled
  • Unsupervised swallowing of medicines
  • Medicines regurgitated because of sickness or stomach irritations
  • Forgetfulness
  • Incompetence
  • Negligence
  • Uncooperativeness
  • Indifference
  • Cutting corners

These are all inadvertent examples. Just imagine if we were to calculate the mischievous or deliberate possibilities.

It’s astounding in my opinion!! Kudos to any company that can coordinate such a monumental endeavour and to recognize, consider and account for any or all of the above examples alone. Bravo.

Regards

DND
