If I were DM. And I absolutely did not know what the results were at this moment (which should be the case because he should be blind at this moment) then I would DEFINATLEY not do something beyond the norm in the way of an announcement. Because if it’s bad news on Monday at 8:30am and he goes on to plead with the herd not to panic and pleads to continue to have confidence in the company, then that would REEK of him having prior knowledge (even if he doesn’t have prior knowledge, the optics of it would strongly point in that direction). So it would be best (in my opinion) to present the results in a method consistent with the norm.
