I have much the same feeling as you San Fran, there is more to come. I very much would like to see the kidney data as all we need to see there is results similar to previous trials to have something valuable wrt CKD. To my knowledge there is not currently any drug available that improves kidney function in this patient population. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.
I hope however that while the science team is pouring over the science end of things that the business team is actually getting down to some real business, we need it. I agree with JermaineJackson that RVX may be facing some funding fatigue. I really think the business side has got to start some movement wrt partnering on the other "6 or 7 clinic ready compounds" that we have been hearing about for years now but have never seen any action on. Also is anything going on with exploring Apabetalone's potential as a potential AIDS therapy? That was a big to do for about 10 minutes and then nothing.
If there are some big positives with commercial potential wrt to Apabetalone I might even hope that RVX might consider selling Apabetalone to fund multiple trials on multiple compounds. A sale could potentially be in the form of cash plus a future royalty? if Apabetalone proves to validate RVX as a developer of potentially commercially viable therapeutics it would be the time to more aggressively pursue multiple partnerships for some of these compounds. I think perhaps mamnagement has been a little guilty of sitting on their collective hands waiting for a big BOM win which would then make financing other programs easy. Hasn't happenned yet so may be time sto make it happen.
Additionally I would like to know if the company is exploring the secondary market for the sale of tax credits. My understanding is that the company has roughly $400MM in tax pools. I don't recall the press release for the debenture mentioning that these were part of the collateral package where that has been the case with the prior loans. I'm not sure what these can be sold for these days but even if it was 5 cents on the dollar that would be enough to fund operations for a fair bit of time especially now that the burn rate must be lower since BOM is complete.
Anyway just a few thoughts/questions. Hopefully in the coming weeks we get a clearer and more positive picture for both the science and the business at RVX.
