Fine. It is possible that ~2000 patients across ~14 countries around the world and across hundreds of individual study sites all coincidentally with no prior coordination simultaneously initiated a request to their individual doctor and/or study site/country lead investigator. Upon receiving an unsolicited, unanticipated and unanimous request from all BETonMACE patients, Resverlogix decided that they'd better amend their BETonMACE trial protocol to accommodate the wishes of the clinical trial study patients. I mean, why follow a pre-determined clinical trial protocol arrived at by thorough discussions amongst Resverlgoix, the clinical steering committee, regulatory agencies, etc. Why not just have the patients design the clinical trial. The patient is always right, right? Quite amazing, if true. Maybe there's a BETonMACE facebook group......MACEbook. Or, maybe the likelihood of the above is near nil and instead Resverlogix and Clinical Steering Committee were the ones with the great idea to amend the BETonMACE protocol and offer this option to patients. Nah....it must have been the patients.
