RVXOT – couldn’t agree more. Although DM’s ‘wink wink, nudge nudge’ commentary since the Sep 30 webcast has been very encouraging I think what everyone is now looking for is hard facts to back up the actual viability of this drug. The current SP and ‘A’ warrant prices are pretty much at 50% of what they have been for all of the last year and since the ‘A’ warrants were issued back in May/June. That’s not bad for a ‘wink wink, nudge nudge’ from a CEO that tends (from what I understand) to be on the optimistic side. However, the big difference now is that DM has actual facts at his disposal. How would it look to the rest of the RVX team and the company’s major shareholders if he was seen to be overly promoting results that just aren’t there? He may be optimistic by nature but I doubt very much he would over hype in this circumstance.
So where does that leave RVX investors? Well, to me it’s all coming home to roost in a couple of weeks and again in early December for the cognition sub study results. And yes, he may have already provided a clue with the patent comment but we’ll have to wait and see if that relates to cognition or to something else. In any event, I can’t help but think that the SP is going to go up, and go up significantly, if the results at the AHA confirm that apabetalone is a viable drug in one way shape or form as it relates to the indications it was intended to address. Sure, after December we’ll still be waiting on FDA approvals and hypertension study results and whatever, but the nuts and bolts of this should be more or less confirmed. And speaking of bolts, if they did need to beef or power up BoM in this manner to get things completely nailed down then fine. The ‘A’ warrants still have 3 ½ years on them which should be plenty of time to do that. But I think the market will have factored in the viability of apabetalone well in advance of that, assuming of course that DM isn’t just blowing smoke with the comments he made at the AGM, which I seriously doubt. I can’t imagine a CEO in his position being that irresponsible.
So Tada, based on the above I’m going to revise my SP prediction for the contest from the $6.34 that I initially submitted to $22. I simply cannot see the market rewarding RVX with a SP of only $6.34 based on the comments that DM made at the AGM, rose-colored glasses commentary notwithstanding. Remember too that this was once a $25 stock and that was when it had nothing to back it up and this time it looks very much like it will…IMO.
