Message: So what's the Bottom Line?

If you’re a scientist or medical professional then you are encouraged, maybe even very encouraged, about the future of epigenetics and apabetalone’s potential.  If you’re an investor, the presentation at the AHA was no doubt underwhelming and did not meet expectations.  The former look for promise, the latter look for fireworks.  That’s reality.  Now we wait for Monday morning where DM will try to pacify investors that he surely knew would be disappointed in the AHA presentation.  I very much doubt that he can add a whole lot on the trial results side that hasn’t already been revealed or discussed to a large extent, so that leaves the business side.

My guess is that he will almost certainly reveal that RVX now has a partner with whom they will take the development of this drug to the next level.  In fact, I think he kind of alluded to that at the AGM and let’s face it, they can’t survive without it.  To me, a partner is not a buyer so I don’t think we will hear anything about some outfit that is ready to write a check.  But they could have a BP partner that will ultimately have something along the lines of a ROFR should apabetalone’s commercial potential become more viable.  That ROFR would, I think, include the whole enchilada, not just the CVD portion.

With a BP partner I think that (in the not too distant future) you’ll also see a US listing.  While BETonMACE didn’t set off a fireworks display worthy of a Chinese New Year, based on some of the posts by the more scientifically minded folks on our board, the science and the drug shows promise and ‘proof of concept’.  That gives them something to promote, which is very important.

So, if you’re short on RVX we’ll look to seeing your shares and warrants hit the market next week.  If you’re long then I look forward to continuing our discussions on the board for another couple of years or so.

Bolt-On, eh!
