Message: A fair and optimistic write up on BETonMACE

Koo,

"what does the (44) in the above represent?"

That is just a reference in the paper for "Nasreddine ZS, Phillips NA, Bedirian V, Charbonneau S, Whitehead V, Collin I, et al. The Montreal Cognitive Assessment, MoCA: a brief screening tool for mild cognitive impairment. J Am Geriatr Soc. 2005;53(4):695-9."

"do we know the total number of patients that took part in the MoCA trial and how many of which score <25?"

469 patients 70 years or older make up the cognition subgroup. At baseline MoCA screening, 223 had score of greater than 25; 246 had score of 25 or below. Of these 246, 97 had score below 22.

"In the executive Summary (1), what does the  "0.65-1.04" represent? .... "Executive Summary (1)Very Encouraging Cardiovascular Disease Efficacy ResultsNarrow Miss on Primary: 18% HazardReduction(95% CI; 0.65-1.04) p=0.11""

I think that is the confidence interval. I am far from a statistician, so I will let someone else elaborate on this if they choose to do so.
