I've had my handle going on twitter for about 4.5 years now, and I only have 86 followers...I don't concern myself with it much, I tend to go in spurts.  You though haven't been on even a full year yet and your handle has 79 followers already......more generalistic hashtags like #CVD #Epigenetics #Diabetes etc....they have more potential to be viewed by people unfamiliar with Resverlogix than #apabetalone or #betonmace, those searching those hash tags already know about the company.
