Fuzzyjr - I think you misunderstood my point about CEOs. Probably I did not word it very well.
Epigenetics is a very recent evolving science. It’s too much to expect BP CEOs to be on top of it. So inevitably they must very dependent on the advice and opinions of colleagues, consultants, etc, regarding the science, all of which takes time. It wasn’t meant to be a criticism.
Whereas BP CEOs have many drugs of different types to look after, startup CEOs are more specialised, focussed on one very small area. So they can understand the science.
But I do think many BP CEOs are conservative and risk averse. That’s what held up gene therapy for so many years. BP completely dropped out when it ran into problems.
I’m also not suggesting Don has a big ego or is foolish. He has done an amazing job. He and RVX deserve a huge amount of credit for what they have achieved so far.
I agree with you that a deal will be done. But it might take time.
