I've receieved an answer from RVX to my question about what MACE includes in the BTD.
My question was:
"I have a question about the BT designation, which I gather is for “major adverse cardiac events. Can you tell me whether this includes stroke (though not really a cardiac event) and whether it includes congestive heart failure?"
Their answer:
"The indication which has been awarded the BTD is the same as endpoint in BETonMACE, “in combination with standard of care including high-intensity statins, as an adjunct to diet, for the secondary prevention of major adverse cardiac events in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus, and recent acute coronary syndrome.” MACE can include both atherosclerotic events (MI and stroke) and CHF events."
Sounds like a very broad brush - a little surprising to me but probably a good thing, I'd say.
