Writing a scientific review of that type involves a lot of work and a lot of time. Academics write reviews to contribute intellectually to a field, develop hypotheses, develop new insights, look at things from a new angle, and so on. Pharma/biotech people don't do that.  This review is useful as a convenient collation of publications, but I would say it is superficial in its treatment of the literature and offers nothing new. It was written with a different purpose. And I think there was a reason behind the timing and the choice of journal. It could be an indication that something important will soon be announced. Here's hoping!
