Not that I disagree with the trough example as many times we see various management teams enrich themselves in various companies, but I dont get the stock option comment. Why would I ever exercise a stock option until a deal is announced? I have no risk waiting and there is always deal risk if I do beforehand. Same for DSU's etc. I think deal confidence would better be reflected in an issue of more options etc in the near term, but not sure what blackout restrictions there are.
