That's for trades settled up to September 30th, and while it hasn't moved much it was an increase of 16,434 from the previous period.  

Whether those behind the short selling are looking at it as a pure short play, believing that the stock is overvalued, as simply a trade pushing the price up and down and scalping on the tips and dips, or in an effort to 'shake the tree' in the hope of exasperating shareholders and encouraging them to sell.....

Whatever the reason I do believe we're going to see them covering off.....and I believe biting the bullet on at least a chunk of the shares because of a lack of liquidity.  

Just another useless prediction of a small squeeze play coming up....
