"Why would a tablet be preferred to a capsule? Capsules dissolve so much more readily in the system, and are easier to take. Why would anyone even want a tablet?"

One reason is to work towards an extended release product that only needs to be taken once per day. Right now, apabetalone must be taken twice per day. Perhaps tablet form is more amenable to extended release?
