tada - I missed that comment at the time but it might have been when ASSURE results came out. Merck announced results the same day with huge raise in HDL (dysfunctional as theirs was not allowing any to be removed from body even though it was full and doing no more good). They were the big story of the day but one might even wonder if their drug was doing harm. With retaining so much dysfunctional HDL, was it triggering the body to not create as much new functional HDL, maybe? Anyway, they since gave up on theirs and maybe continued with it for LDL lowering but I think not HDL raising anymore.
