I'm not a doctor, but I'm guessing the 7 days of prednisone? (corticosteroid) is the standard of care. They probably don't give out that drug for weeks at a time - it has side effects. Whereas, they can give Apabetalone (on top of the prednisone) for up to 4 weeks, as per trial guidelines. So the placebo (prednisone) side receives steroid only for 7 days versus treatment side of 7days of prednisone + RVX 208
If I'm off base, please assist.
