Yes, in human lung cells, the entry point into the body for the virus and where respitory issues cause death. Apabetalone is a very small molecule drug that will enter virtually all cell tissues imo.  And will have the same MOA in other cell types, not just in lung cells as was the focus of that study.  So apabetalone can block cell entry, impede its replication strategy if it does enter a cell, and last but not least perform inflammation control and repair tissue damage such as that caused to heart tissues (confirmed by that recent Australian study).  

I am not a scientist so this is JMHO.
