tada

Last week’s Alberta new COVID case tally (Alta. government site) was 3828 or an average of 547 per day. Friday’s total new cases total was 531. Active cases for the week were 8153. I’m not sure where they measure that over a week as new cases enter and old ones exit. In an Oct. 13th  article they announced 38 new deaths which met the old record at 38 from Jan. 12th. The kicker there was lower in that article was the following statement.

While the new deaths were reported on Wednesday, the dates of the deaths range from Sept. 21 to Oct. 12.

That is a lot less than 38 in a single day. That was just that they were reported that day. The daily average for deaths since the start of the pandemic is 5.47.

Friday, there were 779 in hospital and 185 in ICU. There were 12 deaths reported on Friday. (Hinshaw Friday report)

These numbers are far below your 2000 new cases and almost 40 deaths per day. There are still many patients in Alberta but these are the real numbers.
